Fuel Your World™
From day one, we wanted Planet Fuel to be a brand that empowers consumers to do something meaningful for the world. Humans are connected to the planet in many ways, but none greater than our relationship to food and water. Each day, by the food and beverage choices we make, we determine if we will nurture our bodies and the planet, or if we will simply perpetuate the status quo. Fuel Your World™ is our mantra, our call-to-action. It drives our social mission to create products that are good for the body and good for the planet.
The Planet Fuel Charitable Fund
In order to deliver on our vision of doing good for the planet, we established the Planet Fuel Charitable Fund (PFCF) in 2016. The PFCF serves as the “giving arm” of our business and is funded through a combination of private donors and a portion of Planet Fuel product sales. PFCF provides financial support to conservation groups working hard to protect wild places and wild animals. In December 2016, we awarded our first major grant of $50,000 to The Ocean Conservancy, specifically to support their Plastics Program and "Trash-Free Seas" initiative.
The PFCF Mission
The Planet Fuel Charitable Fund fuels passion for environmental stewardship among young adults to protect habitats, wildlife and wild places across North America. We provide educational and hands-on experiences to empower the next generation of conservation leaders and invest in local and national organizations dedicated to the preservation of a healthy and sustainable environment.
The Student Advisory Council
Our recently created council is comprised of teenagers who will guide PFCF funding decisions and help us stay connected to the environmental issues and concerns held by our teen and tween consumers. Through their hands-on participation we will help educate and empower the next generation of environmental stewards.
Environmental Film Series
The Student Advisory Council is actively involved in planning and executing our first ever Environmental Film Series, which will launch in February 2017 at the Fairfield Theatre Company. We will present additional environmental documentary films throughout the year.
The PFCF will provide grants to both local and national conservation groups during the course of the calendar year. Our Student Advisory Council will be directly involved with identifying potential organizations, conducting due diligence, and helping to make final grant award recommendations.
